Earlier this year I started to volunteer with the Halifax federal Green Party EDA as a way to introduce myself to politics and help the Green movement in Canada. The federal candidate for Halifax is now running for the leadership of the provincial green party and I see this as an opportunity to continue on that same path. I see so many easy and practical solutions around me to the problems that we are facing on a day to day basis as a province and I want to get involved slowly to becoming part of the solution. I think that Ryan Watson is a good leader and that working with him as part of any executive team that he assembled could really progress the Green movement and the proliferation of Green politics in Nova Scotia.
I know that being Membership Secretary will involve the management of a large database of members and making sure that memberships have not lapsed and that those who have lapsed memberships are notified. I am an experienced database technician as a part of my career in wildlife management so this role will allow me to contribute some of my skills while helping to forward the green movement. I want to start making a contributing to a change of thinking not only in this province but in this country that will make it a better and more sustainable place to live and I think that this will be a good start to that goal.
Thanks Brad. I look forward to our continued work together!
